History

Metro Ace Packaging Corporation was originally founded in 1990 under the name Metro Ace Plastic Industry. It started as a small manufacturing company with just two machines in a 500-square-meter warehouse in Davao City, producing plastic bottles and containers for local industries. As demand for high-quality packaging grew, the company recognized the need for expansion and modernization to remain competitive in the industry.

1990
Founding of Metro Ace Plastic Industry

1990 – METROACE was established and started operations with 3 lines of Extrusion Blow Molding machines. Making bottles ranging in size from 30 ml to 1 gallon containers. 

1992-1996
Machine Expansion 

Injection molding of caps and closures, as well as some houseware products, were added. Within this period, 20-liter carboy products were also produced.  

1997
Added Plastic Corner Post Product

Expanding its clientele to include the banana industry, METROACE developed its own plastic corner post machines with its in-house engineers.

2006
Started Early on Environmental Protection

Environment Friendly Timber (EFT) was developed in cooperation with a Dutch Consultant. These are made from post consumer as well as plastic wastes from agricultural farms.

2008-2010
Adding New Line of Product

METROACE diversified and added a new line for the production of Polypropylene Monofilament twines for the Banana Industry. Within this period, the company was able to commission its 3rd line, making a total capacity of 110 tons per month.

2011-2012
Adding Strap and Film Products 

A new PP Strap machine was also commissioned to replace an old line and to enhance strap quality. Blown Film operation started to address requirement of Banana Industries for film products. 3 Inflation machines and automatic cutting sealing units were installed.

2014
PET Bottle Production Started

Added PET Injection & Blowing machines to meet growing demands in PET bottle & jar requirements.

2017
New Certification and Cleanroom Facility for Film Products

Cleanroom for food contact liners was constructed for blown film operations to cater to the requirements for desiccated coconut and other food products requiring strict compliance with food safety standards. In the same year, the company acquired the HALAL Certification for Plastic Containers, Caps, and Plastic Bags, issued by Mindanao Halal Authority (MinHA), Inc.  

2018
Installed Solar Power System

A 103-kilowatt-hr peak solar power system was also installed to generate a cleaner and sustainable energy source and to reduce electricity cost. In the new Annex 4 building which was constructed to add more space for machines, raw materials, and finished goods. After one (1) year, the company’s solar energy reaches a total capacity of 596 kilowatt-hour peak.  

2019
ISO Accredited 

the company acquired the ISO 9001:2015 Certification for “manufacture of primary and secondary plastic packaging materials (rigid plastic and flexible blown film)” issued by the Certification International Philippines, Inc. In the same year, a rope machine was commissioned, capable of producing bigger ropes up to a diameter of 28mm.

2021
New Technology for Plastic Bottle

Acquisition of Injection-Blow Molding (IBM) Machine for Pharma Bottles.

2024
Enhancement of Plant Facilities 

The construction of mold storage area, machine/fabrication shops, new QA and CEO’s offices in the production plant were completed.
